Cape Cod - End of Summer

CAPE COD - End of Summer

Just two years ago in 2020, I had published the unpublished images that I had taken in 2015, which was the last trip I had made to Cape Cod and New England, taking 5 years to publish these photos digitally in the form of a blog with the experiences lived. of that period and before. Once again, a trip was presented for the summer of 2021, returning with the same camera to portray some new aspects that perhaps we could not do on the 2015 trip and visit new places.

This trip would be very different since in the previous ones the stay was for many months, however this one would only be a few weeks, but still with more free time for visual experimentation and with a more photographic sense without time limits. We had a new electric bicycle as transportation that would transport us further and with less fatigue to the places we already knew and also to the new ones to visit.

Sandy Neck

Cape Cod It is a fairly quiet place, even so in the summer there is a lot of tourism due to the beautiful beaches, summer houses and somewhat mountainous vegetation despite the fact that everything is a sandy plain. Cape Cod houses are very distinctive from others in the United States, with something similar to those of New England, but they are very unique.

During the summer of 2021, the pandemic continued to wreak havoc in many ways and the limitations on places and the way of proceeding were different even here since there were many restrictions, but we really had a great time, since the places I visited were mostly places open air and nature in general, perhaps some restaurants and beaches in the area had certain restrictions.

As I had mentioned, this trip was very different compared to the previous ones, I had one hundred percent of free time and resources were more easily available. I visited surrounding towns that I had not had the opportunity to go to and discovered new sensations. Still, I felt that time was short.

- Pines -

There are many varieties of pine trees, some giant ones called Strobus Pines and the Pitch pine pines (Pinus rigida) of Cape Cod have a resemblance to the Pinus Occidentalis of the Dominican Republic (Where i live), with certain strange shapes, as if they were tall. These forests have great darkness due to the large size of these trees, sometimes the Sun's rays filter and shine in an extraordinary way on the pine needles. These scenes evoke my childhood when I looked at the photo calendars of Canadian forests that were in my house. Being able to witness these experiences live marked some of the best moments of this trip.
